No fee, because Oklahoma issues no general licence to start or own a business — its own commerce department says so directly, adding that specific business types may still need a licence, permit or registration before opening. A business may still need an industry-specific state licence, an Oklahoma Tax Commission sales tax permit if it sells taxable goods, and whatever a city or county separately requires.

An LLC files a $25 annual certificate every year on its own formation anniversary, and falls out of good standing if it is more than sixty days late. A corporation is a different story entirely, and one worth getting right because the old assumption is now wrong: Oklahoma repealed its corporate franchise tax outright, with 2023 the last year a return was required.
