Transportation Impact Fee (Unincorporated Santa Rosa County)
The Board of County Commissioners adopted the Transportation Impact Fee ordinance, Ordinance 2024-04, at a public hearing on April 4, 2024, and on February 3, 2025 approved implementation; per the county's Impact Fee Information page, collection began May 5, 2025 on all building applications submitted on or after that date. The page states that impact fees apply to new construction permits that will impact roadway capacity, must be paid prior to or at the time a building permit is issued, and are collected at the same rates throughout the unincorporated areas of the county. The page also states that the fees are adjusted annually by the Consumer Price Index and that, with an estimated 3.1 percent CPI increase for the twelve months ending September 1, 2025, the fees were adjusted upward effective January 1, 2026; the per-1,000 sq. ft. rates above are those published on the page, effective January 1, 2026, adjusted yearly by CPI. Revenue is spent within the expenditure district where it is collected. The page lists exemptions for accessory buildings that create no additional impact, replacement of buildings or dwelling units, and affordable housing as defined in F.S. 420.9071.
