About each permit
Backflow Test Fee
$40 per test. The schedule adds a warning worth taking seriously: additional fines and restrictions, including meter confiscation, may apply where the conditions of the city's Backflow Ordinance are not met — losing the meter closes the business, which puts this small recurring fee in a different category from the rest of the list.
Fire Hydrant Meter Rental
A $1,960 deposit, with the register at $310 and a readable replacement $319. The ongoing obligation is what catches contractors: the monthly meter reading must be in by the 10th, or it is $100 on the utility bill, and a late or inaccurate reading is another $100. An unreadable or tampered register is $500 and a confiscated meter $100. Pick-up and return are by appointment only, Monday to Thursday.
Oil, Grease and Grit Interceptor Permit
$25 for the owner or operator — nominal, and separate from the real cost, which falls on the hauler: a liquid waste hauler permit is $250 and includes one truck decal, each additional decal is $25, and a manifest ticket book is $40. A restaurant should expect those to be reflected in what the pumping contractor charges. Frisco is one of the few cities in this dataset that permits the interceptor itself rather than folding it into a plumbing fixture count.
