The same FAQ answer still quotes an $87 state fee payable to KDHE, but that charge no longer exists — Kansas Statutes section 65-505, as amended by 2025 House Bill 2045, has provided since 1 July 2025 that 'there shall be no annual fee for a license to conduct a child care facility', and the state license itself has been issued by the Kansas Office of Early Childhood, not KDHE, since 1 July 2026. The $108 figure is confirmed specifically for Family Child Care Homes; Child Care Centers register through the same office (316-268-8351) after attending a separate Child Care Center Orientation, but no distinct centre-specific local fee figure could be confirmed from any page this research could retrieve, so none is asserted for that case. The Act also lets the office set a fee of up to $35 for an amended license, and keeps a $75 late fee for a license not renewed within 30 days of expiring.
