About each permit
Permit to Work in County Right of Way
A contractor working in, under, across or along a Brazoria County road right of way needs a permit from the County Engineer before starting. The county's procedures state that "permits issued by cities or other agencies are not acceptable for work performed in a Brazoria County Right of Way". The current application form (Version: 10/7/2026), linked from the Engineering Permits page, marks a $100 fee for each of landscaping, petroleum pipeline, surveying, geotechnical investigation, road connection, work in right of way and other work, plus a $100 traffic control plan fee and a $400 plan review fee when applicable, all payable before the permit is issued.
