About each permit

Home Occupation - Daycare Accessory Permit

A distinct, separately-listed accessory-use application type ('Home Occupation - Daycare') from the generic Home Occupation permit recorded above, priced identically at $100.00 on the City's own current Planning & Zoning Fee Schedule under the line item 'Daycare.' This local zoning permit is layered on top of, and distinct from, Idaho's own State Child Care License recorded at the state layer and the separate Nampa Fire Protection District fees recorded below.

Temporary Use Permit (mobile food vendor/food truck)

The City's own current Peddlers License Application states 'All Mobile Food Trucks must contact Planning and Zoning to obtain a Temporary Use Permit,' and the Department's own Temporary Use Permits page cites Nampa City Code Title 10, Chapter 1, Section 12 as its authority. The $50 (1-month) and $75 (6-month) figures are read from the City's current Planning & Zoning Fee Schedule.

Zoning Verification Letter (Nampa)

The Planning & Zoning Department's current online 'Request for Zoning Verification Letter' form states no fee anywhere on it, and the City's Planning & Zoning Fee Schedule lists no line for a standalone Zoning Verification Letter, unlike the Conditional Use Permit ($350) and Temporary Use Permit ($50/$75) priced on the same document. The form covers land-use confirmation only for properties and addresses located within the City of Nampa, and directs other property-information requests to a public records request.

Sign Permit

Nampa processes a sign permit as a building permit under the same Exhibit A valuation table used for general construction, rather than pricing signs on a separate sign fee schedule; the fee therefore follows the declared value (time and material) of the sign. The Sign Permit Guide also requires the applicant to state an Idaho Contractor Registration Number under Idaho Code 54-5209, or claim an exemption under 54-5205.

Conditional Use Permit (CUP)

The City's own Conditional Use Permits page states that 'Certain types of uses require special consideration prior to their being permitted in a particular district,' with no building permit issuable until the Planning & Zoning Commission approves the CUP and any appeal periods elapse. Nampa's own zoning use-table matrix, '10-3-2: Schedule of District/Zone Land Use Controls,' sets out the mechanics: its legend reads 'P = Permitted use, C = Conditional use permit required' (a blank cell means the use is not allowed at all), and it includes two separate restaurant rows (one for a standard restaurant, a second for one with a drive-in, drive-through, or walk-up), a health club row, and separate rows for daycare, vehicle repair, and veterinary uses, across every zoning district from agricultural through industrial. Whether a specific business needs a CUP therefore depends on both the use and the exact zoning district of its site, as shown in that use table. The $350 fee and process are stated on the City's Conditional Use Permits page and its Planning & Zoning Fee Schedule.

Home Occupation Accessory Permit

Applies only to a business operated out of a home, not a commercial storefront — most relevant here to a home-based personal trainer or fitness instructor, a home-based hairstylist or nail technician, or a contractor running an office (not a yard or shop) from home. Section 10-1-10 ('Home occupations') is the specific chapter/section governing this permit, confirmed both from the Code of Ordinances' own table of contents, which lists it under Title 10, Chapter 1 (General Provisions), and from the City's own Schedule of District/Zone Land Use Controls, which cross-references a home-based accessory business directly as 'described in section 10-1-10.'
