County Business License (unincorporated Yolo County)

The county's Business License page is headed 'All Businesses Are Required To Be Licensed', lists business license contacts for the cities of Davis, West Sacramento, Winters and Woodland, and says 'If your business is located in unincorporated Yolo County please submit your Business License Application form to Business.License@yolocounty.gov'. County Code §12-1.304(b) names among the businesses covered 'Stores for the sale of merchandise at retail', outlets for 'repair of shoes, motor vehicles, or appliances', 'barber and beauty shops', 'Restaurants, bars, or other establishments for the sale of food or beverages', and residential 'day and boarding child' care homes. Fee parts are from the Yolo County Current Master Fee Schedule (print date 9/14/2026): Business License Fee $294 and Renewal Fee $82 (revised 12/06/2022), the $4 CASp fee (06/26/2018) and the 10% Technology Recovery Fee (06/24/2025); the Business License page states that a basic new license 'is $327.40 (includes a technology fee of 10%) and expires the next year on January 31 st.' The same page says businesses applying for a new license, change of ownership or change in occupancy use 'may be required to pay additional fees' and to call (530) 666-8775. Under County Code §12-1.503 a separate license is required for each location, §12-1.508 bars transfers, §12-1.510 refers applications to county officers including the Building Official, Fire Marshal and Health Officer, and §12-1.513 sets fees by Board of Supervisors resolution, capped at actual cost. §12-1.605 says 'The occupation of real property for business purposes is governed by the zoning regulations of the County'.
