This is a separate city license layered on top of the Maricopa County mobile food facility permit already recorded above — a Mesa food truck operator needs both. Required application documents include a fire inspection completed within the past 12 months; neither this page nor the Fire and Medical Department's current fee schedule publishes a rate for that specific inspection, so ask Mesa Fire and Medical (480-644-2400) for the current charge.
General Business License
Per the city's own licensing page: $25 to apply, $25 a year to renew, with a $10 late fee. Certain exemptions exist under section 5-5-4. The city's licensing page does not say whether this fee is Mesa's implementation of the municipal privilege-license fee that A.R.S. 42-5005 allows (up to $50) or a separate charge on top of it; ask City of Mesa Business Licensing (480-644-2316) which applies to your business.
