About each permit

Food Establishment Plan Review Fee

A restaurant, coffee shop, mobile food unit, or childcare facility with its own kitchen that proposes to operate a food service facility in Prince William County pays this $40.00 Plan Review Fee to the Prince William Health District, a Virginia Department of Health field office serving both the county and the City of Manassas. The Health District's own page states directly that 'an application and $40 plan review fee are required for all submitted plan reviews.' This fee is charged separately from, and in addition to, the $40.00 Food Establishment Permit Fee recorded in the next requirement, so a new food establishment pays $80.00 total between the two.

Commercial Swimming Pool Permit

A fitness studio operating a commercial pool or spa in Prince William County pays this $350.00 annual permit fee to the Prince William Health District, which states directly on its own page that 'commercial pool owners are required to pay an annual permit fee of $350.' A fitness studio without a pool has no obligation under this requirement. This fee is separate from the Certified Pool Operator fee recorded in the next requirement, which is charged per pool operator rather than per pool.

Food Establishment Permit Fee

A restaurant, coffee shop, mobile food unit, or childcare facility with its own kitchen operating in Prince William County holds this $40.00 Food Establishment Permit from the Prince William Health District, listed on the District's own payment table as a separate line item from the $40.00 Food Establishment Plan Review Fee recorded in the previous requirement. A new food establishment therefore pays $80.00 total, split between plan review and the permit itself. The Health District's own fee page states only the dollar figure for this permit and does not say whether it is billed once at initial permitting or renewed on a recurring basis; a stale 2008 state-budget figure found during research was checked against the Health District's current page and is not current or Prince-William-specific, so it is not used here.

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Fee

A fitness studio with a commercial pool must have a Certified Pool Operator on record with the Prince William Health District, which charges a $15.00 annual fee per operator, stated directly on the District's own page: 'Pool Operators are required to pay an annual $15 fee.' This fee is charged per certified operator, separately from the $350.00 annual Commercial Swimming Pool Permit fee recorded in the previous requirement, which is charged per pool. A fitness studio without a pool has no obligation under this requirement.
