County Zoning Applications — Special Permit, Change of Zone, Board of Zoning Appeals (Lancaster County zoning jurisdiction)

A business whose use or site in Lancaster County's zoning jurisdiction needs a county special permit, a change of zone or an appeal to the Board of Zoning Appeals files with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Department, which serves the Lancaster County Board as well as the City of Lincoln. The fees are as published in the Lancaster County Zoning and Subdivision Fee Schedules, linked as "County Fee Schedule" from the Planning Department's Forms & Fees page and headed "ADOPTED FEE INCREASE OF 2.4% EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2026" and "RESOLUTION #R-26-0070, EFFECTIVE 10/01/2026": a special permit (other than a community unit plan, mobile home court or mobile home subdivision) costs $502.00 for 1 acre or less and $1,204.00 for more than 1 acre; a change of zone costs $502.00 for 1 acre or less and $1,204.00 for more than 1 acre; and a Board of Zoning Appeals application costs $502.00.
