About each permit

Construction Industry Contractor License

Contractors must provide proof of workers' compensation coverage (or a signed exemption affidavit) and furnish a list of subcontractors on any job. The License Collector's own Construction Contracting Business page, read in full, lists five steps to licensure — a state sales tax number where applicable, the Graduated Business License form itself, a Statement of Clearance, an Occupancy Permit, and proof of workers' compensation coverage — and names no bond or surety requirement anywhere in that process.

Day Care Zoning Waiver or Conditional Use Fee

A Missouri state license is required to care for more than 6 unrelated children. For 6 or fewer, the city's own page states an occupancy waiver requiring a hearing may be needed. Which zoning path (home occupancy waiver vs. conditional use) applies to which scenario was not fully resolved to a single authoritative statement — both carry the same $50 fee.

Graduated Business License

The city's own enumerated list of 'Businesses With Additional Requirements' (31 categories) does not include salon/barbershop, auto repair, or veterinary — those need only this license and any applicable state board credential.
