About each permit

Excavator's License

Only reaches a contractor performing street or sidewalk excavation work in Bridgeport's public right-of-way, on top of whatever Connecticut Home Improvement or New Home Construction Contractor registration already applies (recorded at the state layer). A separate, per-job Excavation Permit is also required once licensed: $250.00 per address for street work or $150.00 per address for sidewalk work, per the same fee schedule. The Licensing & Permits Department also issues a Hauler's License ($200.00 per vehicle) and an Occupancy/Dumpster Permit ($100.00 per location), neither of which is specific to the ten industries covered here.
