About each permit

City of Tucson Business LicensePima County

The City of Tucson's Business Services Department page states that the City of Tucson does require business licenses for businesses operating in Tucson. The page directs applications to the City of Tucson License Section, at PO Box 27210, Tucson, AZ 85726-7210, with the email address License@tucsonaz.gov. The license applies inside Tucson city limits and sits on top of the county permits described in the records above. The license amount is not published on the cited tucsonaz.gov page, so this record carries no dollar figure.

Business/Privilege LicenseTucson

A city license distinct from Arizona's $12 state TPT license, which is administered separately by the Department of Revenue and covered at the state layer. Tucson City Code section 19-39 sets every figure above: a $25 nonrefundable application fee, a $50 initial annual fee for applications received on or after 1 January 2015, prorated by the quarter in which the business starts, and a $50 renewal fee due each 1 January. A renewal not received by the last business day of January is delinquent, and the business is treated as operating without a license until it files the renewal and pays a $75 renewal fee. The license is valid only for the calendar year in which it is issued, and the City's own current application form (AP0711) states the same $25 and $50 figures and the same quarterly proration.
