About each permit

Building Permit (Commercial)

Submitted to the Building Safety Division at 125 West Mountain Street through the Civic Access/EnerGov portal. These figures are the City's current, live fee-page numbers; the Building Safety Division's own linked 'Fee Schedule' PDF (Exhibit B) shows lower figures for several of these same line items (for example $117 for commercial demolition and $183 for a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, against $183 and $342 on the live page) — treated here as a superseded document rather than a conflicting current source.

Certificate of Occupancy

The City's own information sheet states plainly that buildings cannot be lawfully occupied without a Certificate of Occupancy, and that water service will be disconnected if a business occupies before one is issued. The published Development Services fee schedule prices only a 30-day Temporary Certificate of Occupancy ($342 commercial); no separate line item for the standard, permanent Certificate of Occupancy appears anywhere in that schedule, so no fee is published for it beyond the underlying building permit itself. Building Safety, Engineering, Planning, Tree & Landscape, Meter Operations, Solid Waste, Sidewalks/Trails and the Fire Marshal's Office may each be required to sign off before the CO issues.
