Scales
The county Weights and Measures program conducts annual inspection and testing of scales, gas pumps and other weighing or measuring devices used for retail services, and the county Weights and Measures page states that scope. Local Law No. 1 of 2026, §2 (adopted February 3, 2026; effective January 1, 2026 under its §5) sets the scale charge at $20 for scales up to and including 15 kg (33 lb) of capacity and $40 for scales over 15 kg up to and including 300 kg of capacity. The fee is set by the scale's capacity band.
