About each permit

Veterinarian Rabies Certificate Filing and County Registration Tags

County Code Sec. 5-35(A) requires veterinarians to send DuPage County Animal Services the certificates of animals inoculated against rabies by the tenth of each month following the month of inoculation, and Sec. 5-35(B) requires each animal hospital to keep its own rabies vaccination file for at least as long as the vaccine remains legally effective. Under Sec. 5-4, veterinarians who inoculate a cat or dog procure serially numbered tags from Animal Services, one issued with each certificate; the base tag fees are paid on procurement, and any unaltered or intact differential is remitted with the certificates. Sec. 5-71 sets the registration tags at $18 (1-year altered), $45 (1-year unaltered), $45 (3-year altered) and $95 (3-year unaltered), the unaltered figures including the $10 State Anna's Law differential.
