About each permit

Veterinary Facility Permit — Iowa Code § 169.4 Licenses Practitioners

No fee is recorded. Iowa Code section 169.4 provides that a person shall not practise veterinary medicine in the state who is not a licensed veterinarian or the holder of a valid temporary permit issued by the board; the section's licensing requirement and its seventeen numbered exceptions address people and activities rather than premises, and the section names no facility or clinic credential. Ownership of a veterinary clinic is separately restricted to a licensed veterinarian or a professional corporation formed under the relevant chapter, but that is a rule about who may own the business, not a premises permit issued by the board.
