Family Child Care Provider Registration (Voluntary, Through the County CCR&R)
Registration is voluntary. The State's childcarenj.gov page on becoming a registered family child care provider states that a provider who cares for no more than five non-resident children, 13 or younger, at any one time in the provider's home 'may choose to become voluntarily registered' through the county Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) agency, and that registration allows the provider to care for children receiving New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program benefits. The same page states 'It costs $25 to apply'. N.J.A.C. 3A:54-5.6 sets a non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 payable to the sponsoring organization, and N.J.A.C. 3A:54-5.4 sets each registration period at three years. The State's CCR&R list names the Camden County Department of Children Services, DiPiero Center, Blackwood, as the agency for Camden County; the county's FCC Registration Process page says the agency guides providers through orientation, application, trainings, background checks and a home inspection.
